Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a correspondent she is responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA as well as the new Space Force, to commercial companies in space and the rise of space tourism. Kristin, mother of NASA astronauts as well as a space enthusiast was raised in the field. She served for five years in the position of White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy in the Trump and Biden Administrations. Also, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations to fight the coronavirus. Former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Prior to being hired by the channel in, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up through local TV news markets which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her skills behind the camera back in the year 2014. Field Mouse Films specialized in making documentaries for corporate clients, which included Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism from Boston University. She and her husband reside at Washington, D.C., and is the mother of a 3-year-old daughter.
